NATIONAL WATER QUALITY REFERENCE LABARATORY

The National Water Quality Reference Laboratory (NWQRL) is a world-class environmental analysis and research laboratory under the department of Water Quality management in the Ministry of Water and Environment. The lab is located at the Directorate of Water Resources in Entebbe, Uganda.

The National Water Quality Reference Laboratory (NWQRL) conforms to the international ISO standard ISO 17025, with a 3 Tier structure. Under the 3 tier structure the lab has Four (4) regional laboratories;

  • Mbale Regional Laboratory supporting Kyoga Water management Zone
  • Mbarara Regional Laboratory supporting Victoria Water Management Zone
  • Lira Regional Laboratory supporting Upper Nile Water Management Zone
  • Fort Portal Regional Laboratory supporting Albert Water Management Zone
